So far, I've been fairly impressed with the vehicle in that it caters to the gray area between off-road performance and on-road drivability. I have a friend that owns an '84 and he loves it. The only problem he has encountered has been a failure of seals in the hydraulic clutch. They were replaced with no major effort extended. Some of the options I am looking at and would like some response upon are: 1) 5 speed vs. 4 speed manual w/wo the use of cruise. 2) Off-road package. More specifically, I would like to hear about the on-road drivability of a Blazer equipped with this package. No dealers in my area have such a beast on their lots. 3) Cold climate package. Is this worth the effort and money? 4) What tires to order with the truck. I would like to hear opinions concerning performance of the various types of tires Chevrolet offers with the truck. General comments from owners/past owners will be greatly appreciated. My buying point of view stems from the fact that I need a vehicle that does well in snow on country roads, but also rides well on the highways. I do an amazing amount of interstate travel. Also, the vehicle needs a moderate amount of space as my lifestyle varies between tech-pro and country boy. I would also like to have some input from Jeep and Toyota truck owners. I would prefer to stay with a GM model as I am fairly familiar with their lines. However, I am open to change if someone can provide a sound case. Please respond by email and I will tally the results and post at a future date. Thanks much in advance, Brian Tymchak AT&T NS, Columbus, OH
