	Ken, I haven't seen you stick your foot in your mouth this far in
	quite a while.

I certainly did stick my foot in my mouth.  I assumed that people would
make a reasonable attempt to figure out what I meant before flaming me,
thus showing that after all this time I have still failed to grasp the
fundamental nature of the net.  Walt continues:

	Without any reference books to reference...
	   The Sino-Japanese War
	   Spanish-American War
	   Boxer Rebbellion
	   Boer War
	   All of the German-French conflicts under Bizmark
	   Mexican-American War

None of these conflicts were comparable to WWI or WWII, but since I
wrote "peace" assuming that it was obvious that I meant "relative
peace", I got flamed.  Actually, Walt let me off lightly.  In article
<845@watdcsu.UUCP>, Tom gives a similar list, but figures that the
"100 year period from the coference of Vienna to WWI" must naturally
include WWI!  He also rounds the 1815 date of the conference of Vienna
off to 1800.  (I have a suspicion that Tom works for the IRS.)

Tom also asks me about my claim that WWI was unwinable, but I'm not
going to answer him.  I have learned my lesson well--no more factual
articles to net.flame, no matter how badly another netter seems to
need educating!
