If AT&T raises it's prices in an attempt to recoup losses, or make more money, or for whatever reason it wants to, *YOU* can switch to a different long distance service. Lots of other people could too, so AT&T probably won't. Do you understand? The local operating companies only have to bribe local utility commissions, though, so they may well raise their prices.
