I don't want the government controlling what I can and can't own. Someday, Uncle Sam or the government of whatever township YOU live in will pass a law outlawing something YOU own, THEN perhaps you'll gain a better insight into the firearms issue. Banning the criminal use of, rather than the possession of firearms, scanner radios, whatever, is a reasonable approach.
