to all radio amateurs

the fcc issued several  notices  of  proposed  rulemaking  last
friday.   subjects  addressed  include  new uhf frequencies and
mode l satellite operation for the  amateur  service,  repeater
coordination,   and   the   waiting  period  for  retaking  vec
administered amateur exams.

the commission also issued two  orders  which  affect  the  vec
program.   one  order  deletes  the  requirement  for volunteer
examiners to list their mailing  address,  license  class,  and
license  expiration  date  in  section  2 of the form 610.  the
other order deletes the requirement that the fcc be notified 30
days in advance of volunteer examiner test sessions.
