  For a few good software engineers:

     We have a position in the Software Quality Department at the Santa 
     Clara Division of HP for an experienced software engineer.  
     This position is not the traditional
     software qa situation where the qa engineer actively participates
     in the software life cycle only during the testing phase.  We are
     trying to build a software qa organization that focuses on the
     quality science aspects of software development.  This means the
     position entails the following responsibilities:

	  *  development of software quality test plans,
	  *  consulting the development teams on software quality
	     related issues,
          *  training the development teams and others in software
	     quality related topics,
          *  auditing the software development process through each 
	     life cycle phase,
          *  moderating design inspections and code reviews,
	  *  and characterizing the software's reliability and supportability.


     The educational and experience requirements include :

	 BSCS or BSEE with at least two to three years of software related
	 experience.  Knowledge of Unix, Pascal and C are desirable.

     This is a fledgling software QA department and the position offers 
     an opportunity for a qualified software engineer to apply and learn
     state of the art software science concepts.
