Organization: U of Waterloo, Ontario Lines: 18 Summary: I also have a 3 1/2 month old son, so I am not at that point yet, but it strikes me that the logical time to start disciplining a child is when you are convinced that: 1. the child knows that the action in question is wrong. 2. the child can understand that the disciplinary action is being taken as a result of his own bad action. I imagine that this is a wide ranging criterion, which will point to different ages for different children and different types of misbehaviour.
