The following is a quote from an old article in USA today:

The USA's 2 million "Tootsies" now can reach out and touch
someone.  That's the potential number of callers Phil Salem,
26, says he hopes will use his United States Transvestite/Transsexual
Telephone Contact Service.  Salem says his Ohio-based registry receives
anywhere from four calls a day to as many as 200 a week requesting
information about his hookup for cross-dressers.  The bulk
of his 1,500 clients: "Professionals like computer scientists
who don't get to express themselves much at work," he says.
