The reason that the plug may be pulled on an adult who's brain no longer can function without support is that in this case there is no hope of anything resembling productive life for the brain-dead person. Obviously, this is not the case for an unborn fetus (whether or not brain function has begun). This argument holds absolutely no water at all. Mike Ryan
