You needn't wait for the year 2000 to find out if computers will work.

Most computers don't claim to really "know" what year it is.  You have to
tell them, or at least you usually CAN tell them if you think they are
wrong.

So, just start up an available computer and tell it it is the year 2000,
and run some tests !  Then take a nap.
