The other day I got into a discussion with a friend about the history of the Dyer Avenue shuttle. I know that until the 40s it was a rail line. There are many vestiges of the old line that are still visible. I can remember seeing pieces of the old roadbed in Westchester County. Unfortunately there is now housing and factories on the roadbed. My friend says that the old railroad went as far north as Boston. It eventually went out of business because the southern terminus was in the Bronx and they couldn't get any trains into Manhattan. Can anyone tell me anything about the original railroad. Regards, Fred ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Frederick R.
