I want to buy a ski type boat and have heard that whereas jet boats are fast and fairly powerful, the pump mechanism tends to wear out quickly. This lends to costly repair bills. I have heard this is a real problem in muddy/dirty water, because the dirt particles wear down the pump faster. Is this true, or is this a nasty rumor promoted by prop-lovers? Thanks.
