I think I want a 3.5" Questar or equivalent, RA drive, a reasonable complement of oculars and filters, and a camera mount for Nikon. I want to use it for field as well as astronomical viewing and as a long telephoto camera lens. I don't want a Newtonian (too big and akward). By the way, I tried posting this to net.astro without success. 1) I have reviewed the brochures of Questar, Celestron, and Mead. All claim 'diffraction limited' performance yet prices differ by a factor of 2 or more for equivalent size. Any comments on the merits of the Questar vs Celestron vs Mead by people who have compared them?? Is the Questar worth the extra $$'s in resolution, mechanics, etc?? 2) Where, if any, is the market for used telescopes, either want ads or stores (New Jersey, New York area) where I might obtain a good buy. 3) Anyone out there have a telescope for sale? 4) I would be very grateful if a Questar owner in the central N.J. area would kindly take some time to demonstrate it to me. adTHANKSvance Bill Wetzel 201-834-2083 Email replys appreciated - ...!vax135!hou5h!wrw Please include phone number if you don't mind me calling with more questions.
