Bachelor. Current conditions: 107 in base at main lodge, 3100 vertical ft total drop (top of summit to bottom of Outback), 4 of 4 lodges open, 10 of 10 lifts running, trails powertilled (packed powder), 26 degrees. The next nearest Alpine areas are Hoodoo (about 50 miles NW) or Diamond Lake (80-90 miles SW) and of course, Mt. Hood (about 100 miles N). There are also 25 of 32 km of groomed Nordic track prepared today (at Bachelor). You will also find many hundreds of miles of ungroomed XC trails in the area too. The Sunriver folks have a trail system that eventually connects with the mountain systems (bring GOOD maps). You can ski XC at Newberry Crater too or in the Three Sisters Wilderness area (it has been suggested that Central Oregon has 1200 miles of XC trails).
