We hold that G-d does not have a form and is everywhere.  If you check his
appearances to the Patriarchs you will find that he always appeared in a
dream.  Moses is the single person in the Bible to whom G-d spoke face to
face.  We are taught that this reference, and the reference of the Egyptians
to the finger of G-d, and the passing of G-d over the Jewish homes and through
Egypt during the plague of the deaths of the first-born, are but allegorical.
a primitive person, and even many sophisticated people, have trouble dealing
with a god with no body or form.  These descriptions are not(!!!) literal,
but figurative.

I would like a reference to this source.  Too much of the Bible has been
mistranslated to accept a memory rather than a quote.

While this response belongs in net.religion, and part of the article was
lost by a bad terminal at the source, I must respond quickly.  This is
a strange claim, since the descendant of David in the Christian Bible is
Joseph not Mary, who according to dogma bore no genetic link to Jesus.
