I have a suggestion for men who are wondering just why a single woman
would wear a ``ring that looks like it might be from an SO'' in public:
recruit a couple of woman-friends to go with you into a bar and sit near
you in such a way so it looks like you have nothing to do with them.  Keep
your eyes and ears open for a while.  I think it will start to dawn on
you why a woman who was just joining a friend for a drink, as Helen Anne
was, would wear a ring.

And you thought men only acted that way in movies.
