Actually, the magazine Time, had an article on the child with herpes, and
had a doctor state in the article, that if a person was to get herpes, it
was better to have it as a child than as an adult.

Who knows, that may be the route medicine takes to cure(?) herpes, by getting
children a shot of the virus that will built enough immunities within the
body against it.

I had a friend that had a problem with sores on her hand as a kid.  No one
know then what it was, and when she would get it, we all looked at it and were
curious.  After LeeAnn grew up, they finally figured out it was herpes.  Well,
none of her friends ended up with it, and her husband or her children don't
have it.  I am glad no one could diagnose until recently, I would hate to
think how people would have treated her if they had known.
