Two of my best friends are involved in a VLDR (Very LDR). He is in veterinary school in Michigan, and she is in law school in Quito, Ecuador. They've been carrying on this relationship like this for over 3 years, and are waiting anxiously for her to finish her degree in a couple more years so she can come to the states to get a Ph. D. and so they can get married. They only get to see each other once a year, but that is usually for about a month. They write constantly, and call whenever they can ($1/ minute adds up in a hurry!). After 3+ years of 5000 miles, bad mail service, and lots of missing each other, they are at least as in love as when they started. I guess it all goes to show that if two people love each other enough, not much can diminish that love. I hope that things continue to go well for them (they've asked me to be best man) and that mere distance won't stop people from loving each other. --Scott Dickson Undergraduate User Consultant uucp: :ihnp4, allegra, akgua:!psuvax1!BSD%PSUVM.BITNET Bitnet: BSD@PSUVM.BITNET Arpa: BSD%PSUVM.BITNET@WISCVM.ARPA
