(Speaking of Chuq, *I'm* getting tired of reading articles in the controversy
surrounding me, out of which I deliberately dropped out because I didn't think
it was worth the hassle to escalate the flames between me and Ron Vaughn.)

Actually the :-) may be inappropriate.  The wife in one married couple who are
good friends of mine remarked that when a couple is contemplating marriage,
they would do better to consider whether they could live together lovingly if
they were both down with the flu over the same weekend, or if neither of them
had slept enough for a month because the baby was crying a lot at night (of
course some of this was hypothetical in their case; they were childless for
10 years of marriage or so).  Her opinion of the emotion that often precedes
marriage was:  "Falling in love has largely to do with indigestion"; this was
partially :-), but with a serious point.
