THEY already control marriage and divorce-- the only alternative is to simply live together, which has potential societal and religious drawbacks for some people. My comments were simply that the process of becomming married should be equivalent to the process of becomming unmarried. Currently, it is imbalanced, it is much easier to become married (or, as some people would say, get you into THEIR clutches) and much more difficult to resolve that situation when it fails.
