I have some friends who play music of the 30's and 40's in some of the more stylish clubs in the Portland area. When I go to listen to them I have found that I PREFER to go out alone. If I go with some- one else, we usually end up talking and I don't get to hear the music. If I want to talk with friends, I stay home and talk. When I go to listen to Becky sing, I like to hear her sing. On occation, someone will come ask if they can join me, (if I have been lucky enough to latch on to a table) and I tell them "It's fine with me, as long as you don't talk". I'm not being rude, mind you, I smile and nod. I just go on listening to the music and if they sit down and listen too that's fine. If they are quiet, I might even talk to them when the band takes their brake, but usually I talk to the members of the band. Annadiana Beaver A Beaver@Tektronix "It's the media, Ruby."
