The phone company now admits to their screwup. It seems the IRS was to get this number but there was some foul-up in the installation. The phone company did not intall the number but the IRS thought they did so they published this number in the instruction forms. The phone company out of the goodness of their hearts, told me they would give me a temporary number until April 15th. Well great, I won't get wrong numbers until after tax day. Meanwhile, no one can get a hold of me. After some deliberation, the phone company agreed to give me a new phone number and when anyone calls my old number, the operator will break in and ask who you are trying to call. Chalk up another one for "It can only happen to me"......
