I caught the referral too.  I recently read that the people responsible for
St. Elsewhere were planning on refering to other NBC shows both past and
present.  Later this season or early next, Rhea Perlman's character on
Cheers (Carla) will have her baby on St. Elsewhere.  In fact, the bar scene
that is often used on the show is the set from Cheers.
