If one examines the figures below, the sum of "used" "and" avail equals 90% of the actual disk space listed under "kbytes". Another 10% free won't hurt performance, but I don't think that it gives too much better improvement in the filesystems. One probably wants some extra space (1-2 Mbytes) free just for normal fluctuations.
