Video camera extension cables for both VHS and Beta systems are readily available. My 33-foot (10 m) VHS cable cost me $45, and it's a great investment. I can reach anywhere in the house without moving the VCR. Some suggestions as to sources: 1. The video camera's list of optional accessories probably includes one or more extension cables, i.e., try a dealer who sells the camera. 2. J&R Music World, 23 Park Row, New York NY sells extension cables. 3. MCM Electronics, 858 E. Congress Pk. Drive, Centerville Ohio 45459 does too. Just now they sell a 33-foot VHS cable for about $27! 4. If you really want to buy a portable VCR without a tuner, Panasonic sells some "Industrial" units that are just recorders. But by the time you add the AC adaptor/battery charger, you may not save that much more over buying a whole portable unit. And the extension cable is cheaper by far. -- Matt Fichtenbaum "Our job is to rescue fires, not put out your cat."
