I can think off-hand of 2 likely (reasonable) explanations: (1) When do we see our men in suits? If yours is like mine, the only time I see him in a suit is on special occasions, which somehow makes it special.. (2) It could go back to the Daddy=Power equation that we grew up with... seeing Daddy come home from the office (in a suit) to be met with a hug by Mommy.. This equation holds, however, ONLY if the suit is well-cut ... I'd rather see a man in well-cut jeans than an improperly cut and/or tailored suit... (Those $99 C&R suits look AWFUL!!)
