I am beginning to use VMS Ingres 2.1, by using EQUEL/C.  First, am I directing
my queries to the correct newsgroup?  Is there an INFO-INGRES?
DB-LOVERS? ETC?

Two questions:

How often does one have to use the statement:

## ingres db_name ....

Once in the first program to use db_name?  Or in each program which needs
access to the database db_name?

Also, if I use the statement:

## define view ....

How long is this view "active"?  For the duration that the database 
db_name is open?  For life?
