I am currently doing some work in the area of using memory mapped
files.  I would appreciate any pointers to books, articles and
publications which deal with this subject.

I am interested in finding out what hardware could be useful in
enhancing the performance of memory mapped files, and any case
studies done which have possibly analyzed their pro's and con's.

We are at the stage of defining a computer architecture and would 
like to optimize the area of file I/O and access.
