For good advice on car-buying read this book:
   Don't Get Taken Every Time
   Remar Sutton
   Penguin Books

It has info like:
   How is credit union interest different from bank interest?
   How can I intimidate car salesman?
   What is the dealer cost for this car?

(the answer to the last one is, buy a copy of Edmunds {Domestic,Foreign}
Car Prices)  The book covers buying new or used cars, and selling your
own car, shopping for loans, and so on.

This is a *really* good book.  I have loaned my copy to three or four
people, and every one of them has thanked me profusely.
