If you plan on building any type of aircraft, I would strongly 
recomend that you join the Experimental Aircraft Association.
If you don't know of a local chapter a call to national headquarters
in Oshkosh Wisconsin will get you a list of the nearest chapters to you.
Even if you don't join a local, join the national to recieve
the "SPORT AVIATION" magazine. It carrys many informative articles
on aircraft building techniques and safety reports.

My second recomendation would be to writre to the kit manufacturer
and ask for a list of customers near you for first hand opinions.
All others can only speculate.
