The way any given airline deals with it seems to be up to the whim of whatever twit you are dealing with. Some want the pedals off, the handles turned sideways, and the whole thing wrapped in a plastic bag. Others just let you throw it on. I haven't had any damage done on any occasion, though. David Lewis
