I've done it on a transatlantic flight.  It was just a question of
backtracking the steps in unpacking the bike: unscrew the handlebars,
turn them 90 degrees, and screw back; unscrew the pedals; remove the
front wheel; put everything into the original box.

Be prepared to tip the porter extra!
