Well, that's 1500' maximum from the base set. Since the transmitter in the base is carrier current, I would expect that that number is drastically decreased as you head away from the house. From my days on rinky dink college radio, I can tell you that carrier current doesn't carry, and the RF is blocked by transformers. -Ron
