My apologies to anyone who, like me, wishes there were other topics 
besides "One Hundred Ways to Wok Your Avocado"  :-)  ...

   Anyway, avocado foe that I am, I have GOT to get some opinions 
on this dish!!!  This is so out of the ordinary that I may try it if 
any of you recommend it to me.

   From _Fear_of_Frying_, by James Barber (Vancouver:  Douglas & 
McIntyre Ltd., 1978).
   (punctuation supplied where necessary, this is a sketch-and-hand-
printing sort of book):

   "Avocado:  this dessert is God's way of saying She's sorry for
inventing instant coffee.
   "...Just try this -- the greatest quick dessert in the world:
   "Mash smooth one avocado, juice of a lime, 2 tsp. sugar, and 1 tsp.
instant coffee.  You can eat it straight, but better mash in an equal
amount of vanilla ice cream.  
   "Gloriously rich, fattening, sensuous....but organic, man..."


  I *swear* I am not making this up.  Please write me with results, if
you survive!
