Lines: 23 Summary: In article <36200189@uiucdcs.UUCP> mcewan@uiucdcs.UUCP writes: >>brainwashing - a forcible indoctrination to induce someone to GIVE UP >>basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to >>accept contrasting regimented ideas. [Webster's New Collegiate] > >That's definition 1. You left out "2. persuation by propaganda or >salesmanship". While you've got the dictionary in front of you, why >not look up the words "lie" and "dishonest". Look up "propaganda" and "salemanship", and while you're at it, "ludicrous", and get back to me. Two points, however: 1. The dictionary rarely includes connotative meanings (which is an issue in this particular discussion), and 2. The fact that it took you THREE WEEKS to find a dictionary in order to argue this point says more about you than your innuendo implies about me. Have you ever considered a job as a proofreader?
