[LISA] What's more interesting than Gary's "diversion" of discussion to net.flame is Charley Wingate's tactic: set the "Followup-to:" line to "net.flame" in his articles posted to net.religion. This has two interesting (intended) effects: 1) The responder doesn't get to continue discussion in the same forum in which the original article was posted (as if to say "I'm not interested in hearing your response, so post it elsewhere"), and 2) It makes the responder (not Charley) the brunt of the "why are you posting this religion crap here in net.flame" type abuse. -- Otology recapitulates phonology.
