Oh, sigh. I have recently made a few less than wonderful remarks about
Peter Honeman on this forum. I now find myself in the less than agreeable
position of disagreeing with myself about what I've said. 

Peter and I view things very differently, and we sometimes find ourselves
in conflict because of this. He recently hit a raw nerve with me, as we do
to each other occasionally, and I jumped on him without really thinking. He
was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and became a convenient target
for things that didn't involve him at all. Displaced anger is the worst of
all, it doesn't solve the problem and it creates new ones. 

I've sent my apologies privately, but I also feel it is important for the
net to know as well. I blew it, as I do occasionally (gee, I wish I was
perfect-- it would make life simpler, and probably boring), and as usual I
blew it big. I apologize for the things I've said about Peter-- they were
out of line and really weren't based on the situation or reality. I expect
Peter and I will disagree in the future, but I hope we can find a way to
use our disagreements for the positive benefit of the net instead of using
it to rip things apart. At least, I plan to be a lot quieter about it.
