I am not sure if this quallifies as a bug as I seen it happened in rogue
also but while going down the stair in a game I encountered the following
situation:

		-----
		| d.+
		| ..|
		|...+
		-----

where I landed in the upper left corner, sitting in a ghost's lap.
I was able to move away, and had a ring of conflict on at the time, so
I couldn't tell if the ghost under (over) me could hit me.

PS: I also found the way to steal from a vault in this same game, but
was beaten to the punch.  Good thing I read, before posting.
