There are several different antenna types that will either go up indoors, or will go up and come down smoothly. These are something that I would suggest looking in to for someone who moves around a lot. There is a pretty decent book out by Dan Fox, W2IQD, Called "The Handbook of Apartment Operation" that describes some of these antennas. It is published by Foundation Publishing, PO Box 805, Merrimac NH 03054. I have no financial interest in promoting this book, although it is one that I have read and think that it has some good advice to offer in this regard. Also, one whould remember that "there is no free lunch" - you pay for portability in performance. 73, Peter Baldwin, WA1SNH ptb@mitre-bedford
