I find, as you doubtless know, that this is a "broadband" (ie. cable TV based) local network. Why I View With Alarmh Alarm is that it is in the six meter band, my favorite. The PCnet carrier frequency is apparently 50.75 MHz. Since the bit rate is 2 Mb/s, it will spread out quite a way. The thing doubtless meets the FCC radiation specs, but they aren't very strict in terms of an in-house PC along with weak-signal six meter reception. It would likely wreak havoc with meteor burst reception. The saving grace could be that a lightly loaded packet net doesn't transmit much of the time. Has anyone had any experience with interference from PCnet? I should get back on six packets some time soon - worked Florida that way last fall. Bob Carpenter, W3OTC
