   I have been using SMP, a symbolic algebra program originally
written by Steven Wolfram, and now marketed by Inference Corp.,
for approximately a year and a half.  I would like to hear comments
from other users about SMP, in particular any comments comparing
it to Macsyma.  (I have also used Macysma extensively in the past,
but I have not attempted to use the two systems for similar problems).
  I have my own (rather long) list of gripes about SMP, which
 I am willing to share with interested parties.
