A desk accessory that allows you to go directly from one application to another
(skipping the Finder) has been posted on net.sources.mac .  It is called
"SkipFinder".  Two versions have been posted.  The more recent has an
explanation of the differences between the two.

You might want to take a look (and I would appreciate it if someone would post
it to ARPA and/or CompuServe).
