   The TEII uses 7 bits for each data byte, so this could pose some problems.
Most likely, the problem that you are having is associated with the fact
that TI reversed the roles of pins 2-3, and 6-20.  This means that you can
NOT use a straight through cable on anything but a TI compatible modem.
