The 'Pink Panther' was the name of the jewel, not of the thief.  The thief
was 'The Phantom', played by David Niven.

That's 'Casino Royale' with a cameo cast of thousands (hundreds? tens?).
Also starred Woody Allen and Peter Sellers. Just to name a few (actually
the only others I could remember off hand).
