To synthesizer people:

I apologize for my inattention before, but recently a friend of mine 
(bliv%mit-oz@mit-xx.Arpa) asked me if I knew anything about the MIDI
interface standard.  I told him I would post his request here.  He 
needs information on (pointers to) the following:
	
	1)  The MIDI Standards, i.e., a generic reference manual
	2)  MIDI interface to the:	a)  IBM PC
					b)  VAX (11/780 or 11/785)
