Rolling Stone is indeed a bit of irrelevant fluff these days. I used
to pay attention if they gave an album 4 stars; onw it's the kiss
of death, guaranteed mediocrity. The switch came when they left 
San Francisco for New York and got culture. Barf. They shouldn't be
charging for the thing, or I shouldn't be paying for it. Musician
magazine is a good place to look for the sort of material that used
to be in RS, in the music field anyway.
