I'll never forget the first concert I went, which just happened to be opening night. The first piece played was the Star Spangled Banner. I must have listened to that piece of music a thousand times before, but to hear the full CSO play it, conducted by Solti, well, I was impressed! Question: Anyone living in the Chicago area that has attended Ravinia must have heard the recorded brass music played when the concert is ready to start. Does anyone have any idea who composed it, or if a recording is available?
