Does anyone have experience with low-cost vocoders?
I have owned a KORG VC-10 vocoder (the one with the built-in
keyboard) for about five years and I would like to upgrade to
a more "professional" instrument.  I paid around $600 for the 
KORG but do not want to spend $5,000 or so on a Bode, Sennheiser,
etc.

The KORG VC-10 which I own is noisy at the output -whether I use
the internal keyboard or any other external synthesiser.  Also, the
sensitivity of each of the voice "analyser channels" cnnot be 
adjusted, which forces me to use outboard effects or different 
synth patches for any type of change in the vocoder's basic sound.

The only other vocoder that I have seen recently is the Roland rack-mount
unit that has a hold function and a switchable chorus.  It's nice, but
my cost for a new unit would be around $800.00 and I would like
to know if there are any other vocoders available near this price 
range.
