Message-ID: <918@cbosgd.UUCP> Date: Thu, 28-Feb-85 23:01:27 EST Article-I.D.: cbosgd.918 Posted: Thu Feb 28 23:01:27 1985 Date-Received: Fri, 1-Mar-85 09:52:05 EST Distribution: net Organization: Bell Labs, Columbus Lines: 24 Would anyone who has 2400 baud modems for UUCP please drop me a note? I'm trying to see if there are any near clusters that could become much better connected by the addition of a few more nodes with 2400 baud modems. Please tell me in your note: Can you dial out at 2400 baud? Can you be dialed up at 2400 baud? What brand and how many 2400 baud modems do you have? Any additional comments - do you want to use them for netnews? How do you like them? Are they compatible with the appropriate CCITT standard, etc? By the way, there appears to be a 9600 baud dialup modem out there from UDS for about $3000. We're ordering two for testing - if they work out well, they might make a big dent in the UUCP phone bills. If anyone out there has these and is interested in talking to others who have them, let me know. Mark
