I have not tried this, but I'm told it can be done.  Put
Saran wrap across the toilet seat with catnip in the middle.
Supposedly they get the idea pretty fast and no longer need
the incentive.  I would be curious if anyone has any luck
with this approach-- it sounds a bit bizarre but
maybe after a few more months of that BIG litter box in
our TINY apartment I will give it a try...
